The beauty of photography is its ability to capture a moment, candid and unposed. I took this photo to test the exposure level on the camera, but when I saw the photo, I immediately fell in love with it because it captured the dancers natural smile. This photo wasn’t planned making it unique and hard to replicate. Taking candid photos is often difficult as taking the photo at the right time requires luck on your side, perhaps this is why I am drawn to this photo.
The namaste pose in bharatnatyam is used by the dancer to thank Mother Nature and seek the blessings of God, the Guru, and the audience. In Sanskrit, namaste means “I bow to you,” it is often used as a greeting, a sign of respect.
